Family attractions can cover a lot of different things. For instance, family attractions could mean something like a carnival or a festival with events for the children and the parents. Family attractions that are in almost every city are the zoo and the aquarium. The great thing about these venues is that children and adults can equally be entertained US Zoos. There are so many different amazing animals that both parents and children can enjoy looking at for hours. And many of the zoos and aquariums in the nation have activities that children can participate in. For instance, at aquariums, there are usually fun shows for children to watch. One of the staples is a feeding show. Sometimes the shows are centered around penguins. The children can sit on benches outside the pens of the penguins and watch as the caretakers feed the penguins. Usually this is also accompanied by an educational talk about penguins and their feeding and living habits. Another staple at aquariums is the petting area. Sometimes there are petting areas where children can go and pet nurse sharks. This is a really interesting experience for both the children and the parents. It is always an amazing experience to be able to get to touch the animals that you have already learned about.
At a zoo there is also usually a petting zoo or petting area. Often this will include animals like goats or sheep in a pen that children are allowed to mingle with the animals and touch them. This is definitely a main draw for children, because again there is something amazing about being able to touch an animal that a child might have only learned or read about. Sometimes zoos will also have specific areas set up for children to be able to look at more creepy crawlies like tarantulas and pet a snake. This is also very popular, again for the same reason the petting zoos are.
But something that both parents and children can enjoy about the whole experience is that there is always educational plaques that accompany each exhibit. These plaques can sometimes be interactive, but are always informative. Even for parents that have been to the zoo or the aquarium many different times, there always seems like there is something new to learn about or see. This is especially true because there are often new exhibits at aquariums or zoos. Sometimes there are visiting animals or a new exhibit. For instance there are some places that within the last couple of years started to have a jelly fish exhibit. They have all different and new kinds of jelly fish. Also, at some zoos, there are new animals just via the fact that animals reproduce. So sometimes there are baby animals running around in the exhibit, which can be a thrill to see for both children and parents. There is definitely a lot to see and do at both kinds of family attractions, and it can be exciting for both the parents and their kids.
